Heart to Heart

Program 13

Welcome to our broadcast of Heart to Heart. We are not in the studio today so we are unable to take your phone calls. Please have a pen and paper ready to write down any questions or comments you may have about this weeks program. This way you may call our ministry line during the week, call us at the station next week, or you may write to us at: Heart to Heart, P. O. Box 11431, Philadelphia, PA 19111-0431.

Father Michael, will you please read a passage for us from the letter to the Hebrews [Heb. 3:7-14]:

As the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you should hear His voice, harden not your hearts as at the revolt in the day of testing in the desert, when your fathers tested and tried Me, and saw My works for forty years. Because of this I was angered with that generation and I said, 'They have always been of erring heart, and have never known My ways.' Thus I swore in My anger, 'They shall never enter into My rest.'"

Take care, my brothers, lest any of you have an evil and unfaithful spirit and fall away from the living God. Encourage one another daily while it is still "today," so that no one grows hardened by the deceit of sin. We have become partners of Christ if only we maintain to the end that confidence with which we began.

Thank you, Father!

God has warned us down through the centuries that His anger has and will flare up against us. Our Blessed Mother has been holding back the wrath of God by her pleadings. However, soon the time will come when even she, along with all the angels and saints will be unable to protect us.

All the apparitions of our Lady in recent years are her warning to us that time is short. We are called to repent and believe and to live our lives for God: Not out of show, but from the very depths of our hearts.

Chastisements have been promised by God to bring us back to Him. These should be viewed as gifts from the Hand of our loving Father, Who wishes everyone to return to Him.

Many questions have been raised regarding the chastisement known as, "The three days of darkness." Perhaps with the help of God's grace, we can explore this interesting topic. Please keep in mind that most of the information contained in this program comes from the mystical experiences of some very holy people. Since there has not been a pronouncement on the part of Church regarding these visions, we are not obliged to believe them. However, anything that gives us better insight is worth listening to.

Please also, realize that these items are to serve as a warning. Don't be frightened by what you hear but take these words to heart and learn from them. Remember, God can call us at any moment of our life, so we should always be prepared to meet Him.

There are what they call, "Impending Signs." These are already happening. Just read the papers. Increasingly violent disturbances on the land and in the air: Strange weather conditions, massive snow storms, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, windstorms, and floods. Plane crashes and train crashes. Epidemics, famines, revolutions, and wars. A lack of respect for authority, disobedience, the breakdown of family life, abortion, adultery, and promiscuity.

Then there is the prevailing atmosphere of a lack of charity, heartlessness, indifference, lack of concern for our neighbor, people turning against each other, many "religious" will fall away and take souls with them.

All these are signs that the world is too close to the edge. Time is running out for all of us.

Before the actual chastisement itself, there are to be two chances for us to recognize God's work and repent. The first is a period of time during which every soul will be shown exactly how they have offended God and to what extent. The personal suffering this causes will make many wish to die, but no one will.

The second will be an event similar to that at Fatima, a great wonder to convince many. It is predicted to take place on the feast day of a young martyr of the Eucharist, but not on a holy day of Our Lady. The miracle will last for about fifteen minutes and will be visible from Garabandal, Spain. The holy Father, the Pope, will see it no matter where he is on the planet. This miracle will be announced eight days before it occurs. Then, God will leave a sign in memory of it.

It is possible that the sign will be Jesus' Cross in the sky. In 1965, the following message was given [Jesus is speaking]: "The Divine fire and fire of hell will arrive and last during the days of darkness indicated by all the saints. My luminous cross will appear in the sky, it will be the sign that the final events are close, and will remind all of My terrible passion, so that they will have time to reflect, for I shall not punish the world without previous announcement. All will have time to comprehend the significance of that cross in the sky, and everyone shall see it. All will know, even those who 'reject' it, that this My cross will be the sign that a Redeemer came once to bring salvation and pardon. My cross will be honored as never before."

The immediate signs of the three days darkness will begin with a darkening of the sky. Even though these events will begin in the late morning or early afternoon, the sky will become dark as night. The air will turn bitterly cold, the wind will howl and lightning will flash in the sky. Then there will be no light at all, total darkness, utter blackness will envelop the entire earth.

It is said that not a single demon will be left in hell. Every evil spirit will be released to roam over the earth and do all possible harm to souls. The devils will appear in the most frightening forms and will fill the air with pestilence and poisonous gases. Many will die from fear and despair. Satan will triumph in these awful days and hell will appear to have gained possession of the world, but God will reclaim it, for even this chastisement is an act of God's mercy.

It is said that during these days, the wicked will behold the Divine Heart of Our Lord. Hurricanes of fire will rain forth from Heaven and spread over all the earth. Fear will seize all at the sight of these clouds of fire, and great will be their cries, many godless will burn in the open fields like withered grass. God's wrath will be poured out upon the whole world, the "chastisement" will be terrible, such as never before, and will afflict the entire earth.

During this time, there are things we can do to lessen the pain, both mental and physical. As soon as you perceive the signs, go inside and shut and lock all doors and windows. Pull down the shades, keep the doors and windows well covered: Then stay away from them. Do not look outside, do not go outside, do not even talk to anyone outside. The evil one is full of falsehood and deceit. He will use the voices of family and friends to get us to open our house to him. Remember that God loves us and our family members more than we can imagine and He will protect them. Once these events begin, anyone who is caught outside will be taken.

Once we have secured the doors and windows, it is time to light our blessed candles. Some feel they must be bees wax candles, others think any blessed wax candle will be able to be lighted. Even these will not light in the houses of the godless and scoffers. Once lit, nothing will put them out in the homes of the believers. Be sure to keep these candles in a place where you can find them easily. Flash lights will not work, nor will any of the utilities.

Keep plenty of holy water on hand too. Use this around the doorways and window sills. We should sprinkle it on ourselves and those in our house. In addition to holy water, we should keep bottled water, food and blankets handy too. Remember to have foods that don't need to be cooked and are easy to open. Without electricity, the can opener won't be much good.

What I said earlier about our loved ones applies to our pets as well. God will protect them even if they are outdoors. So don't let them be a cause of undue concern for you.

To aid in keeping our minds focused on God and not on fear, we must pray. Kneel before a crucifix and pray, pleading for many souls to be saved. Make the act of contrition, acts of faith, hope and charity. Make acts of spiritual communion, and pray the Rosary. Don't just say the words of the prayer in the proper order, really pray the Rosary. Both our Lord and our Lady have begged for many more Rosaries. "Pray the Rosary, but pray it well, with meditation on the mysteries and with true devotion." Meditate on each mystery as if it were an event happening now. We must watch with the eyes of our minds as the scene unfolds before us. We should place ourselves in the scene and become one of the companions of Jesus or Mary along the way of their lives. Practice this now, so when the time comes, you will be in the habit of praying the Rosary properly. Jesus has said, "Tell the people not nearly enough of them are praying the daily Rosary." During this time darkness, concentrate on the Passion of Jesus. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy would also be a good prayer to use at this special time.

Jesus has promised that, "No harm will come to those who are in the state of grace and seek My Mother's protection." Remember, Mary is our mother also. She was given to us, by Jesus, at the foot of His Cross. To stay in the state of grace, we should try to go to the Sacrament of Reconciliation as often as possible. While the Church requires us to make our Easter duty, confession and Communion once a year, we need to gain as many graces as possible. This means using the sacraments as often as possible. The amount of grace which flows into our hearts when we receive the sacraments is something that our feeble minds cannot comprehend. Only when God reveals all things to us, after this life is over, will we truly appreciate the power that we receive from these graces. Even if we do not live to see the three days of darkness, we still need to be ready to meet our dear Lord, when He calls us from this life.

It has been brought to light, that these days have already been postponed by the increased prayers and the sacrifices of good people and through the intercession of our blessed mother. But our Lord asks that we not pray against it, because it must come, but pray to save ourselves and as many others as possible. Pray too that these days may be shortened.

After the three days of darkness are over, there will be no ungodly persons left, the godless will be annihilated. Some estimates are that seventy-five percent of humanity will be destroyed. Everyone left on earth will believe in God with all their hearts. The earth will be purified. The spiritual fervor of the early Christians will return. The sun will shine again and it will be as springtime, all sweetness and beautiful.

Some nations will disappear entirely and the face of the earth will be changed. There will be no more big business, huge factories or assembly lines. People will return to the land. When the light returns, all should kneel down and give thanks to the Holy Trinity for their protection, and bless God for His goodness and kindness. Then will follow the peace that was promised us by our Lady at Fatima. One thousand years of peace. May God be blessed.

As I've already said, we may need to face our Lord privately, before the coming of the days of darkness. We should allow each day to be a preparation for meeting our Creator. The following thoughts should help us now, as well as later.

First of all, we must get and stay in the state of grace. We do not know the hour or the moment when God will call us from this life. It is better to make the effort to sanctify ourselves and be saved than to put off our efforts to a later time and risk our eternal happiness. We must be true followers of Christ, fervent and zealous for souls, ours and others.

We must respect and obey priests. They are human, but they possess the grace of the Sacrament of Holy Orders. Every day their words call our Lord Jesus down upon the Altar and their hands hold the Master of the Universe.

We should examine ourselves and our relationship with God and with our brothers and sisters in the Lord. Do we live our lives promoting charity, saying only the good things others need to hear? Do we remember that God sees into the depths of our hearts and knows our thoughts from afar? Do we live our lives knowing that we must answer to Him for all our thoughts, words and deeds? Please don't be deceived, we may be able to fool other people, but we can never fool God. We might convince others that our motives are pure. However, God knows the truth we may even try to hide from ourselves. While He is a merciful God, He is also a just God. The whole idea behind the chastisement, is that the Justice of God may be appeased. Watch how we view others, too, our Lord warned us, [Mat 7:1] "Stop judging, that you may not be judged." And, [Mat 7:2] "For as you judge, so will you be judged, and the measure with which you measure will be measured out to you." To sum this part of the message up, we need to get our own house in order.

Prayer is the only way to uproot the negative aspects of our lives. We cannot do it alone. We need the help of our heavenly Father. Pray that He will infiltrate every fiber of our being and cast away from us all that is not pleasing to Him. Ask Him to fill that void with an increase of faith, hope, charity, prudence, discernment and wisdom. Ask the Lord that everything we think, do and say, may be for His greater glory and honor and for the salvation of souls. This is my daily prayer and it should be yours as well. God alone, can fill up what is lacking in our nature and grant us the grace we need to overcome our faults. Know for certain that "no one can carry hatred, bitterness, unforgiveness, ill-feeling, gossip, backbiting or any such malice into Heaven. The more we truly love God and love our neighbor, the more we shall be protected and given special graces." [Page 14- booklet]

We must pray for the Holy Father, for priests, for religious, and for all people of good will throughout the world. Our Lord pleads for generous souls to offer themselves as victims for the salvation of many. How often has my suggestion been to delay a drink of water for just five minutes and offer that to the Lord for souls in trouble. It may seem as a small thing, but when Jesus offers it to the Father, united with His sufferings on the Cross, it will take on an infinite value. Something else may work better for you, the idea is to make extra, little offerings to God for others. God will never be outdone in generosity. We have all heard our Blessed Mother's concern that, "Many souls are lost because there is no one to pray and make sacrifices for them." Trust me, the prayers and sacrifices that we offer can work miracles.

Don't forget the value of the Mass and the Eucharist. Many people remember to offer their Masses for different events or other people. How many though, realize the value of their Communion. There is a devotion dedicated to, "Jesus, King of all Nations." Part of the promise made with this devotion is that anyone who receives Jesus in the Eucharist, nine consecutive times as, "King of all Nations," will receive one Angel from each of the nine choirs of angels. This means that the first time you desire to receive our Lord as, "King of all Nations," you will gain one angel from one choir. The next time you receive, make the same intention, and receive a second angel, from a different choir. This will continue for nine receptions until you have nine extra angels of protection. The novena can be repeated, however, the second time you make the intentions, instead of receiving more angels, your love for God will increase. Once you are satisfied with your progress, you may make the intention on behalf of someone else's soul. That's right, you can offer nine of you Communions for your son or daughter or co-worker. Anyone the Lord inspires you to pray for can benefit from your offering.

While our Lord is still with you, about fifteen minutes after you receive Him, is the best time to offer thanksgiving and petition. He is truly present within you. God, your Master, your Creator, has chosen to come to you in a form your senses can accept. His Body and Blood are poured out onto you and He stays with you, so near you can touch Him. Wow, what a grace to know that God loves us so much that He wants, almost needs to be with us every chance He gets. Don't neglect Him. Go to Mass daily, if possible, receive the Lord of your life and let Him speak to you as you speak to Him. He is waiting for you. Visit Him in Church when you have the opportunity. When no one else has the time or wants to take the trouble to listen to you, Jesus is always there. He is as near as a raising of your eyes to heaven. He wants to listen to you and all your troubles. Fill Him in and let Him bring peace to your heart.

Our Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, in his Apostolic Letter on the Third Millennium, has dedicated this year, 1997 to Jesus. The general theme proposed by many Cardinals and Bishops for this year is: "Jesus Christ, the one Savior of the world, yesterday, today and for ever." [Heb. 13:8]. In paragraph forty of the Apostolic Letter, the Holy Father, suggests the following themes should stand out: "a renewed appreciation of Christ, Savior and Proclaimer of the Gospel, with special reference to the fourth chapter of the Gospel of Luke, where the theme of Christ's mission of preaching the Good News and the theme of the Jubilee are interwoven; a deeper understanding of the mystery of the Incarnation and of Jesus' birth from the virgin Mary; the necessity of faith in Christ for salvation. In order to recognize who Christ truly is, Christians, especially in the course of this year, should turn with renewed interest to the Bible, 'whether it be through the liturgy, rich in the Divine Word, or through devotional reading, or through instructions suitable for the purpose and other aids.'"

The last point I would like to cover is from a little booklet on the Three Days of Darkness. I quote, once again, "It is best to become a 'tertiary' and thus gain the greatest spiritual benefits. The benefits of a tertiary are far above those of any association of confraternity, because the tertiary or oblate actually belongs to an established religious order of the Church. A tertiary lives in the world, but endeavors to live a more holy life." Being a Dominican tertiary, I appreciate the plug for my family. You too can become a tertiary, either Benedictine, Carmelite, Dominican, Franciscan, Trinitarian or any other where God directs you. Ask His guidance, and if our dear Lord directs you towards St. Dominic's family, give us a call we'll give you the address of the Chapter closest to you.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we must postpone our scheduled banquet for January 26, 1997. This means that the Children's ceremony will also be postponed. From the Lord's point of view, it will give the youngsters more time to practice their chastity play. For us however, it is a major disappointment. As soon as we are able to make other arrangements, we will let you know. Please, I beg you to storm Heaven with your prayers for this ministry and the success of our endeavors.

We are still preparing a booklet to commemorate our first banquet and we will be able to accept your ads. The requested donation for an ad is: $25.00 for a quarter page; $50.00 for half a page; and $100.00 for a full page. The ad can include a message and/or picture or memorial to your loved ones. Our mission at "Heart to Heart" is: "All for the glory and honor of God: and the salvation of souls." Your purchase of an ad will enable this ministry to continue. The letter we received from the Cardinals office, assuring us of his prayers for our ministry, will be included in the booklet.

While I am restrained from asking you for money, I must let you know that we need funds if we are to continue on the air. Your help is greatly appreciated. The form to request tax exempt status requires a $450.00 fee be paid in advance. There is also the air time which must be purchased. We pray that the messages we have brought to you have touched your soul and allowed you to grow in your love for God. Mother Angelica asks that you place her between you gas and electric bills, I would ask that you place us between your phone and water bills. The only sponsors we have are your generosity. We offer a special "thank you," to Joyce who has sponsored this weeks program.

The name of the person who contributes towards a program or month can be announced as the sponsor, if they so desire. A contribution of $45.00 will sponsor half a program while $90.00 will sponsor the entire program. To sponsor a full month, multiply the number of Thursdays in the month you choose by $90.00. Please assist us by your prayers and donations. Please make your tax deductible donation to "Heart to Heart." May God reward you, my brothers and sisters, for the assistance you give to keep this program on the air.

You may want to mark February 8, 1997, on your calendar. This date will provide you with a family night out. Our Lady of Calvary, on Knights Road in Philadelphia, is the location for a chastity dinner and dance. Refreshments, hot dogs, soda, coffee, etc. will be provided free of charge. You may want to make a donation that night before you leave. Music for the evening will be provided by, "Turning Point," the band which performs the "O Lumen," for this program. This is a great opportunity for your family to spend some quality time together in a safe environment. It will also allow pre-teens, teens and young adults to meet others who believe that chastity before marriage is important. That's February 8, 1997, a chastity dinner and dance at Our Lady of Calvary, Knights Road in Philadelphia. Call us at (215) 743-8332 for further information.

Just a reminder about our other fund raising effort. We have a beautiful picture of the Blessed Mother and Pope John Paul II in a loving embrace. This picture is beautifully framed and glass covered. Everyone who sends in a donation will have their name entered into a drawing for this picture. The drawing will take place at the banquet.

Another endeavor we would like to undertake is to make home visitations within the Delaware Valley area. If you would like us to visit you or someone you know, please give us a call. Also, we could use some volunteers for various projects we would like to begin. If you have some time on your hands and would like to put that time at our Lord's disposal, drop us a line or give us a call. God rewards everything we do for Him and for our brothers and sisters in Him.

To make a comment, a donation, ask a question or bring up a subject that you would like discussed on this program, write to us at: Heart to Heart, P. O. Box 11431, Philadelphia, PA 19111-0431. You may call us at (215) 743-8332.

God willing, we'll be with you again next week at 2:15pm. Remember: God's power is in your hands when you pray the Rosary. May God bless you and protect you.

Father, will you please grant our listeners a blessing?

May the blessing of Almighty God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit fill your hearts with peace, joy and happiness now and forever. In the Name of the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
